If you live in Japan! Let's know the rules of Japan!
BLOG

If you live in Japan today! Let's talk about the rules of Japan.
In Japan, there is a saying, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”
It is quite natural to know this, but the Japanese take it very seriously.
If you ignore it, the Japanese will react very sensitively!
Therefore, it is good to know it again.
1.Do not make noise in public places.
Do not talk on cell phones on trains and buses.
In other countries, talking on the phone on the train is a common sight, but in Japan it is against manners. Furthermore, it is important to turn off your cell phone near priority seats.
If you talk on the phone, you should do so after getting off the train, or in the case of the Shinkansen, you should get out of the car where the seats are located and make your call on an empty deck.
It is also considered good to eat something. On long-distance trips, such as the Shinkansen, you can enjoy eating an ekiben(japanese lunch box), but on relatively short-distance trips, such as commuting to work or school, it is best to avoid it.
It is a strange feeling that long-distance travel is fine, but short-distance travel is not considered acceptable, but perhaps this is just Japanese etiquette.
2. Eating and Walking
In Japan, eating and drinking while walking is not allowed. It is not punished, but it is considered bad manners.
3. Shoe etiquette
Shoes should be removed at home. When you are invited to a friend's house, you should take off your shoes at the entrance before entering the house.
4. Eating Manners
Do not stab your food with chopsticks. Chopsticks are for holding food. Stabbing food with chopsticks is considered bad manners. In particular, if you stick chopsticks into rice served in a bowl, it is considered an offering to the Buddha. Also, do not pass things from one chopstick to another. You may want to use a fork or something similar without forcing it, or you may want to teach them the joy of using chopsticks.
How was it?
It is important to change your behavior even if you already know it.
Why don't you start to pay a little more attention to the Japanese way of life today?
